Carmel art publisher and Fresno native Stacey Pierrot Simons organized our March Art Hop retrospective of the works of artist Christine Rosamond, famous for her paintings of women.

Rosamond rose to fame in the 1970's with images of women that unintentionally supported the women's movement. Women gravitated to her work and, before the artist could realize her popularity, her work was everywhere, branding her the most published artist in the world.

Sadly, Rosamond died tragically at the age of 46, a rogue wave sweeping her off the rocks of Big Sur into the ocean. A movie is currently being made about her life. DarbyRidge Pictures is producing the film and principal filming is planned for 2024.

Sales from the art show will benefit the Marjorie Mason Center in Fresno, California.
