Then in Blue

The title for this exhibition and the emphasis on the color blue is inspired, among other things, by the birth of my son. The color – simply as a symbol for boy. At the same time, my work seems to be evolving into a new direction that involves combining the human figurature, architecture, landscape, and text in a cohesive way that strives to look like a contemporary relic; combining the past with the present. For this reason, the distillation of form, symmetry, artifact, and technology has become increasingly influential in my work, whilst still maintaining an affinity for automatism and my love for modernist painting and drawing.
